MEET TEACHER JASPREET

Teacher Jaspreet is always composed and collected. She is always calm and peaceful - so knowledgeable and full of wisdom! Before dedicating and devoting her current reality into Early Childhood Education, she’s actually a professor and an instructor previously. She’s got her Master’s Degree and a myriad of certificates and diplomas. She believes in higher education and lifelong learning which is why she has attended the most workshops and the most conferences. When you see her work, she applies her knowledge and wisdom to the children in her care. Her calm demeanor allows her to focus on children’s needs and accommodate them. She’s highly sensitive and observant of anything and everything that the children are doing and saying so she notices the changes in their mood and behaviour and she adapts her ways to cater to their needs because not only is she super flexible but also because she understands what kind of teacher she needs to be for each specific children. She’s hyper aware and hyper focused so she notices the little things and pays attention to the minute of details like when a child is NOT visibly upset but she feels that there’s a change in mood, she will take her time to go down on her knee and check in with the child if everything is okay. Since she’s so kind, genuine, and sincere, she takes the time and makes time for each and every child, making sure that their needs are being met whether it’s emotionally, physically, psychologically, etc., and she will make sure that everyone’s doing fine. There’s always a childcare philosophy or school of thought behind every single activity that she does with the children or that she encourages the children to do because she knows all of the different childcare philosophies and child psychology and development, as well as, she has a great memory. Thank you so much for your many wonderful years of service, Teacher Jaspreet!

PANDA CUB HOUSE LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We humbly acknowledge that we are settlers here on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and traveling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, whose footsteps, culture, knowledge and history have marked these lands for centuries. This is the land that we inhabit, we are only here because of Treaty. We are all treaty people.

We are non-Indigenous people whom are grateful to live, work, learn and play here in Treaty 6 territory and acknowledge that we are a visitor on this land. In response to the TRC and in the spirit of genuine reconciliation, we are committed to understanding the effects of colonization, our role in it, and how we can be a better ally and apprentice, and to uplift the voices of Indigenous people.
